Rita
Wiggs is currently in her ninth year as the full-time
Commissioner of the USA South Athletic Conference. Wiggs served as part-time Commissioner during the
previous year in addition to her teaching duties in the Cumberland
County (N.C.) School System. The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro graduate also holds a masters degree from North Carolina
State University. Wiggs served as Director of Athletics at
Methodist University for seven years and President of the Dixie Conference
in 1997-98. During her tenure at Methodist, she coached the women’s
basketball team for 13 years. Wiggs also served as sports information
director, women’s golf coach, assistant professor of physical education
and chair of the physical education department during her career
at Methodist. Prior to arriving at Methodist, Wiggs was a
teacher and coach in the Cumberland County School System, an assistant
basketball and head softball coach at North Carolina State
University and head basketball coach
at Roane State Community College. Wiggs is a member of the UNC-Greensboro
Athletics Hall of Fame, Methodist University Athletics Hall of Fame and the
Fayetteville Sports Hall of Fame.

- Kelly Johnson
is currently in his first year as President
of the USA South. Johnson serves as Director of Athletics and
Head Women's Basketball Coach at
Peace College, a position he has held since 2004. Johnson spent
20 years teaching and coaching at Arendell Parrott Academy in
Kinston, North Carolina. He served as the varsity boys’ head
basketball coach for eight seasons as well as director of athletics
for 18 years. A 1977 graduate of East Carolina University, Johnson
earned a Master of Arts in Education from East Carolina in 1989. He
played two years of intercollegiate basketball at Lenoir Community
College from 1973-1975.
Mike Christie
is currently in his fourth year with the
USA South after joining as the Sports Information Director in July of 2006. In
January of 2008, Christie's
title was changed to Assistant Commissioner. He was the Assistant
Sports Information Director at Rhode Island College in Providence,
R.I. and also served as the Director of Communications of the Little
East Conference the previous two years. The year prior to
becoming the Assistant Sports Information Director at Rhode Island
College,
he served a year-long internship in the institution's media
relations department. Prior to Rhode Island College, he completed
another year-long internship in the athletic media relations
department at Providence College.
A native of Ocala, Fla., Christie
graduated from the University of Florida in December 2002 with a
bachelor's degree in exercise and sports sciences with a focus in
sports management and a minor in business administration.
