Eight Named to Soccer Academic All-District Teams

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has released the 2017 Academic All-District teams in both men's and women's soccer. The USA South is represented by a total of eight student-athletes from three men's soccer teams (Maryville, Piedmont and William Peace) and two women's soccer squads (Maryville and Piedmont). All players will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American status by virtue of their selection to the Academic All-District.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. In addition, nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's matches at their respective positions.
