USA South Men's Golf Athletes of the Week - April 4, 2012

Golfer of the Week
          Dakun Chang, Methodist - The sophomore from Arden, North Carolina finished tied for first at the Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate Invitational last week by shooting an eight-under par 206. In the three-day event, Chang opened with a one-under par 69, followed with a five-under par 72 and finished with two-under par 70. His performance helped the Monarchs capture the tournament title. Also Nominated: Brandon Grogan, Averett; Scott Obenshain, Ferrum.

Golf Rookie of the Week
          Andy Thorne, Averett - The freshman from Woking, England placed tied for 51st at the Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate Invitational last week by shooting a nine-over par 223. In the three-day event, Thorne opened with a two-under par 68, followed with a five-over par 77 and finished with six-over par 78. His performance helped the Cougars to a ninth place tie at the event.
