Chris McDougal, Christopher Newport - The senior first baseman from Poquoson, Virginia went 10-for-18 (.556) with nine RBI, seven runs scored, two doubles, one home run and two stolen bases as the Captains posted a 4-1 record last week. In an 8-7 win over Mary Washington, McDougal was 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. In a 6-3 victory over Virginia Wesleyan, McDougal was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one double. In a doubleheader split with Bridgewater, McDougal was a combined 4-for-6 with four RBI, two runs scored, one double and two stolen bases. Finally, in a 14-5 win at Gallaudet, McDougal was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and one home run. Ryan Fleischmann, Christopher Newport - The Williamsburg, Virginia senior earned a save in each of his two appearances last week on the mound for the Captains. He tossed an inning in each game, allowing zero runs on one hit with two strikeouts. With the saves, Fleischmann broke the USA South career record with 29 saves. In two losses to nationally-ranked Salisbury, Foate was a combined 2-for-6 with two runs scored and two walks. In a doubleheader sweep of USA South foe Averett, Foate was a combined 5-for-6 with one run scored, one run batted in, one double and two walks. Kaitlyn Culler, Ferrum - The Stuart, Virginia senior earned a 2-0 record last week in three appearances versus USA South competition for the Panthers. Culler totaled 20.2 innings pitched and allowed three earned runs on 18 hits with zero walks and 13 strikeouts. In a 6-4 win over Greensboro, Culler tossed 6.2 innings and allowed four runs, two of which were earned, on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts to earn the victory. In a 6-5, ten-inning, victory over Meredith, Culler collected a no-decision by pitching the first seven innings and allowing one unearned run with on five hits with six strikeouts. Finally, in a 7-5 win over William Peace, Culler pitched seven innings and allowed three runs, only one of which was earned, on eight hits with four strikeouts to earn the victory. Brittany Ziobro, Greensboro - The Winter Park, Florida senior attacker tallied 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists as The Pride posted a 3-0 record last week. In an 11-7 victory over Huntingdon, Ziobro scored six goals with two assists. In a 21-3 win over USA South rival Methodist, Ziobro tallied three goals and six assists. Finally, in an 18-3 victory over USA South foe Agnes Scott, Ziobro totaled six goals, five assists, three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Kelly Lane, Christopher Newport - The Great Falls, Virginia senior midfielder helped the Captain defense allow just one goal in two contests last week versus USA South competition. In a 25-0 win over LaGrange, CNU's sixth shutout in program history, Lane scored three goals and added three groundballs, two caused turnovers and one draw control. Duncan Miller, Methodist - The Birmingham, Alabama junior earned a 3-0 record at the number-one singles and a 3-0 record at multiple doubles positions last week. In singles play, Miller's victories came over opponents from Ferrum, Piedmont and LaGrange. In doubles action, Miller teamed with Taylor Buchholz to earn the wins. In an 8-1 win over Methodist, Ellingson went the distance and allowed one run on five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. In an 11-7 win over Greensboro, Ellingson came on in relief to toss the final 1.2 innings without allowing a run on one hit with one walk and one strikeout. Finally, in an 11-2, five-inning, win over Greensboro, Ellingson tossed five innings and allowed two runs on eight hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
