USA South Athletes of the Week - Jan. 25, 2016

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Adrian Moore, N.C. Wesleyan - The sophomore guard from Plymouth, North Carolina tallied a career-high 23 points off the bench in an 86-74 victory at USA South rival Greensboro in the team's only contest last week. Moore also added five rebounds, two steals and one assist in the win. Also Nominated: Peyton Luken, Piedmont; Braxton Ford, LaGrange; Bailey Spragg, Covenant; Bradley Robinson, Averett.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Bailey Spragg, Covenant - The Windermere, Florida freshman guard scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Scots to a 91-87 win over USA South foe Maryville in the team's only contest last week. He also added six rebounds, five assists and four steals in the victory. Also Nominated: Austin DeLucia, Averett.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Courtney Pearsall, Greensboro - The Clinton, North Carolina junior forward tallied a double-double of a team-high 17 points and a game-high ten rebounds in a 91-53 victory over USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan in the team's only contest last week. Pearsall also added one assist and one steal in the win. Also Nominated: Mary Kate Rushton, Piedmont; Rachel Price, Covenant; Mackenzie Puckett, Maryville; Samm Chandler, Averett.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Marilauren Farr, LaGrange - The Dawson, Georgia freshman forward notched a double-double of a team-high 11 points and a game-high ten rebounds in a 58-51 loss to Piedmont in the team's only contest last week. Farr also added two blocks and one assist in the defeat. Also Nominated: Jatasia Bailey, Piedmont; Bekah Walter, Covenant; Alixis Roccia, Averett; Da Jah Joyner, Greensboro.
