USA South Men's Golf Athletes of the Week - October 7, 2015

Golfer of the Week
Jackson Collier, Methodist - The senior from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina finished first out of 60 golfers at the Gordin Classic in Columbus, Ohio two weeks ago by shooting an eight-under par 208. In the three-day event, Collier opened with an even par 72, followed that up with a three-under par 69 and finished with a five-under par 67. His performance helped the Monarchs to a second place team finish. Also Nominated: Keegan Howver, Ferrum; Tuomas Tyry, Averett; John Grimes, Greensboro.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Samuli Ahvenoja, Averett - The freshman from Espoo, Finland finished tied for seventh out of 60 golfers at the Virginia State Intercollegiate in Harrisonburg, Virginia two weeks ago by shooting a three-over par 143. In the two-day event, Ahvenoja opened with an even-par 70 and finished with a three-over par 73. His performance helped the Cougars to an eighth place team finish. Also Nominated: Sean Kessler, Ferrum; Wil Manuel, Maryville.
