Baseball Player of the Week
Cain Sauls, LaGrange - The junior infielder from Carrollton, Georgia went a combined 6-for-8 (.750) with a 1.000 slugging percentage, four runs scored, two RBI, two doubles, one walk and two stolen bases as the Panthers swept a doubleheader from USA South foe Methodist in the team's only action last week. Also Nominated: Chris Ervin, Maryville; Dustin Boothe, Ferrum; Luke Harvey, Covenant; Billy McLaughlin, Averett; Kaelan Jacobs, N.C. Wesleyan; Patrick Kucera, Huntingdon; Zach Neumeister, Greensboro.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Jake Perkins, Ferrum - The senior from Appomattox, Virginia tossed a complete-game, one-hit, shutout in a 4-0 win over USA South rival Greensboro in his only appearance on the mound for the Panthers last week. Perkins allowed just three walks and struck out ten batters. Also Nominated: Garrett Kriston, Covenant; Joshua Hatcher, Averett; Ryan Broaderick, LaGrange.

Baseball Rookie of the Week
Lucas Stevers, Ferrum - The freshman from Giles, Virginia went a combined 6-for-12 (.500) with a .750 slugging percentage, four runs scored, three RBI, one home run and one walk as the Panthers posted a 3-1 record last week. In a 4-3 loss to Roanoke, Stevers was 2-for-4. In a doubleheader sweep of USA South foe Greensboro, Stevers was a combined 4-for-8 with four runs scored, three RBI, one home run and one walk. Also Nominated: Brady Ballstadt, Piedmont; Derek Beale, William Peace; Brandon Wheat, N.C. Wesleyan.

Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Matt Vonderschmidt, Piedmont - The Suwanee, Georgia freshman earned two no-decisions in two relief appearances last week for the Lions versus USA South competition. Vonderschmidt tossed a total of 4.1 scoreless innings and allowed four hits with two strikeouts. Also Nominated: Hunter Peck, Ferrum.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Lacrosse Player of the Week
Carlee Joseph, Meredith - The Hollywood, Maryland sophomore attacker totaled 22 points on 16 goals and six assists with nine ground balls, six draw controls and six caused turnovers in a 3-0 week for the Avenging Angels. In a 23-10 win over USA South foe Methodist, Joseph tallied six goals, five assists, four ground balls, four caused turnovers and two draw controls. In a 16-12 victory over Centre, Joseph totaled seven goals, three ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Finally, in a 19-9 win over Rhodes, Joseph scored three times with one assist, two ground balls and two draw controls. Also Nominated: Alexis Narducci, Piedmont; Kirstin Norris, Greensboro.

Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Ashlynn Parks, Greensboro - The Odenton, Maryland senior defender/midfielder totaled six draw controls, five ground balls, four caused turnovers, five goals and one assist as the Pride posted a 22-1 victory over USA South foe Ferrum in the team's only contest last week. Also Nominated: Alyssa Codispoti, Meredith; Caitlyn O'Brien, Piedmont.

Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Julie Capretti, Meredith - The Ashburn, Virginia freshman attacker tallied ten points on eight goals and two assists with three ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 3-0 week for the Avenging Angels. In a 23-10 win over USA South foe Methodist, Capretti tallied one goal, one assist, two ground balls, one caused turnover and one draw control. In a 16-12 victory over Centre, Capretti totaled one goal, one ground ball, one draw control and one caused turnover. Finally, in a 19-9 win over Rhodes, Capretti scored a game-high six goals with one assist. Also Nominated: None.

Softball Player of the Week
Jessica Griffin, Averett - The senior catcher/first baseman from Elon, North Carolina went a combined 7-for-11 (.636) with a 1.182 slugging percentage, ten RBI, four runs scored, three doubles, one home run and one walk as the Cougars posted a 3-1 record last week versus USA South competition. In a doubleheader split with Ferrum, Griffin was a combined 3-for-6 with five RBI, one run scored and one grand slam home run. In a doubleheader sweep of Mary Baldwin, Griffin was a combined 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs scored, three doubles and one walk. Also Nominated: Megan Mihaliak, Maryville; Alyssa D'Arco, Meredith; Laura Carter, Piedmont; Amanda Roberts, Ferrum; Morgan Lane, Covenant; Lindsey Wiggins, William Peace; Peyton Hyler, N.C. Softball Pitcher of the Week
Logan Lowery, N.C. Wesleyan - The Kannapolis, North Carolina sophomore earned a 4-0 record with one save in six appearances, three complete-game starts, in the circle for the Bishops last week versus USA South competition. In 27.1 innings pitched, Lowery posted a 0.51 ERA and allowed six runs, only two of which were earned, on 15 hits with ten walks and 27 strikeouts. Lowery earned victories over William Peace, Huntingdon and shutout LaGrange. Lowery's lone save came versus LaGrange as she tossed the final 1.2 innings, allowing only one walk with two strikeouts. Also Nominated: Kayla Aloisi, Maryville; Taylor Jackson, Meredith; Mary Beth Smith, Averett; Courtney Rudd, Ferrum; Raina Lanier, Huntingdon.

Hannah Hoban, Piedmont - The freshman catcher/infielder from Phoenix, Arizona went a combined 5-for-8 (.625) with a 1.000 slugging percentage, eight RBI, three runs scored, three doubles and five walks as the Lions posted a 3-1 record last week. In a doubleheader sweep of Agnes Scott, Hoban was a combined 3-for-5 with six RBI, three runs scored and three doubles. In a doubleheader split with USA South foe Greensboro, Hoban was a combined 2-for-3 with two RBI and five walks. Also Nominated: Alexus Murray, Maryville; Kristyn Owen, Averett; Madalyn Ames, Covenant; Logan Barbour, Ferrum; Lindsey Coley, William Peace; Shelby Godwin, N.C. Wesleyan; Katrina Harden, Huntingdon.

Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Melissa Eckman, Piedmont - The freshman from Perry, Georgia earned a 1-0 record in two appearances, both starts, in the circle for the Lions last week. In 11.2 innings pitched, Eckman posted a 3.60 ERA and allowed seven runs, six of which were earned, on 12 hits with three walks and ten strikeouts. In an 11-2, five-inning, win over Agnes Scott, Eckman went the distance and allowed two runs on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. In a 6-5 victory over USA South foe Greensboro, Eckman collected a no-decision as she tossed the first six innings, allowing five runs, four of which were earned, on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts. MEN'S TENNIS

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Sebastian Sikh, N.C. Wesleyan - The sophomore from Eskilstuna, Sweden earned a 2-0 record at both the number-one singles and doubles positions last week for the Bishops versus USA South competition. Sikh earned singles victories over opponents from Huntingdon and LaGrange. In doubles action, Sikh teamed with Peter Hviid to earn the two wins. Also Nominated: Matthew Metzger, Piedmont; Nicolas Quevedo, Averett; Matthew Harvie, Covenant; Taylor Buchholz, Methodist.

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Ioannis Brokakis, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Heraklion, Greece earned a 2-0 record at both the number-two singles position and the number-three doubles spot last week for the Bishops versus USA South competition. In singles, Brokakis earned victories over opponents from Huntingdon and LaGrange. In doubles, Brokakis teamed with Eduardo Ugalde to collect the two wins. Also Nominated: Abdugani Ganiev, Averett; Harrison LaBollita, Piedmont.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Heidi Sarkkinen, Averett - The freshman from Oulu, Finland earned a 4-0 record at number-one singles and a 3-1 mark at the top doubles position last week for the Cougars versus USA South competition. In singles, Sarkkinen's victories came versus Methodist, Ferrum, Mary Baldwin and Meredith. In doubles, she teamed with Hannah Mattson to collect the three wins coming versus Methodist, Ferrum and Mary Baldwin. Also Nominated: Cailin Goff, Meredith; Lindsay Geving, Covenant; Valeria Berber, N.C. Wesleyan; Sam Munze, Methodist.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
