USA South Men's Golf Athletes of the Week - September 16, 2015

Golfer of the Week
Ben Gillon, N.C. Wesleyan - The sophomore from Chesterfield, United Kingdom finished second at the Tom Kinder Memorial in Harrisonburg, Virginia last week by shooting a five-under par 139. In the two-day event, Gillon opened with a three-under par 69 and finished with a two-under par 70. His performance helped the Bishops to a sixth place team finish. Also Nominated: Sam Hill, Piedmont; Brandon Bailey, Ferrum; Levi Grogan, Greensboro; Marc Wallstedt, Averett; Addison Lambeth, Huntingdon; Jackson Collier, Methodist.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Doug Whitten, Maryville - The sophomore, in his first season of collegiate golf, from Medicine Hat, Canada finished tied for third at the Tom Kinder Memorial in Harrisonburg, Virginia last week by shooting a three-under par 141. In the two-day event, Whitten opened with a three-under par 69 and finished with an even-over par 72. His performance helped the Scots to a tenth place team finish. Also Nominated: Phillip Beard, Piedmont; Grady Anderson, N.C. Wesleyan; Johan Arwedahl, Averett.
