Football Offensive Player of the Week
Sean Bowman, Averett - The junior running back from Creedmoor, North Carolina notched career-highs with 227 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a 35-6 victory over USA South foe Methodist last week. Bowman carried the ball a new single-game program record 36 times and averaged 6.3 yards per attempt. He broke off a 54-yard touchdown run in the third quarter which was his long carry of the night. Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
Denarius Hilton, Averett - The freshman running back from Wadesboro, North Carolina carried the ball eight times for 46 yards in a 35-6 victory over USA South foe Methodist last week. Hilton averaged 5.8 yards per carry and gained 19 yards on his longest run. Also Nominated: None.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Eddie Graham, N.C. Wesleyan - The Indianapolis, Indiana sophomore defensive back tallied a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 35-25 victory over USA South rival Maryville. With just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Graham prevented the Scots from taking the lead by setting a new N.C. Wesleyan mark for the longest interception return in program history. He also added two solo tackles and a pass breakup in the win. Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
Tariq Thomas, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman defensive back from Longwood, North Carolina totaled five tackles, two of which were for a loss, in a 35-25 win over USA South foe Maryville last week. Thomas collected four solo tackles and one assisted take down as well as a pass breakup in the victory. Also Nominated: Terrell England, Averett; Garrett Stacks, Huntingdon.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Chase Young, Huntingdon - The freshman place kicker from Covington, Georgia was perfect on the night with one field goal and four extra points in a 31-28 victory over USA South foe Huntingdon last week. Young hit on his only field goal attempt which was from 22 yards out while also converting each of his four point after touchdown opportunities. Also Nominated: Bradley Jefferson, Averett.
Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Gerardo Peraza, Greensboro - The junior midfielder from Southern Pines, North Carolina scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in the first minute of overtime, and added an assist as the Pride topped USA South foe Averett, 4-3, in the team's only action of last week. Peraza gave Greensboro a 2-1 lead with his first goal in the 34th minute. He then assisted on the game-tying goal in the 64th minute before winning the match in the 91st minute. Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Williams, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman goalkeeper from Manassas, Virginia posted one shutout and did not allow a goal as the Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In 166 minutes, Williams stopped all seven shots he faced. In a 7-0 win over Huntingdon, Williams made three saves while in a 3-0 victory over Brevard, he collected four stops. Ignacio Lerech, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman forward from Tucuman, Argentina tallied two goals as the Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 7-0 win over Huntingdon, Lerech scored the third goal of the match in the 35th minute. In a 3-0 victory over Brevard, Lerech added an insurance score in the 59th minute. Bailey Sipos, Maryville - The Knoxville, Tennessee freshman forward tallied four goals in a 2-0 week for the Scots. In a 3-0 victory over USA South rival Wesleyan, Sipos scored both the second and third tallies of the match. In a 3-0 win over Ferrum, Sipos scored the first goal of the match in the seventh minute then added an insurance tally in the 58th minute to conclude the match scoring. Savannah Castles, Piedmont - The Helen, Georgia senior midfielder helped lead the Lions to a 2-0-1 record last week as the team allowed just one goal. The Piedmont defense posted two shutouts, a 1-0 victory over Berry and a scoreless, double-overtime, tie with Centre. In a 2-1 win over USA South rival Covenant, Castles scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute. Also Nominated: Kelly Allen, Maryville; Jaisa Loch, Meredith.

Ginny Moore, Covenant - The senior outside hitter from Fort Myers, Florida averaged 4.42 kills and 5.92 digs per set as the Scots posted a 3-0 record last week versus USA South competition. Moore notched double-doubles in each of the three matches. In a 3-1 win over Maryville, Moore tallied 19 kills, 26 digs and one block. In a 3-1 victory over LaGrange, Moore posted 14 kills, 19 digs and three blocks. Finally, in a 3-1 win over Piedmont, Moore totaled 20 kills, 26 digs and five service aces. Maggie Hawks, Salem - The freshman libero from Mt. Airy, North Carolina averaged 8.18 digs per set as the Spirits posted a 3-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-1 win over Methodist, Hawks set a new single-match program record with 43 digs to go along with one service ace. In a 3-1 victory over Ferrum, Hawks posted 26 digs and six assists. Finally in a 3-0 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Hawks contributed 21 digs. Callie Cline, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman outside hitter from Stanfield, North Carolina averaged 2.40 kills and 6.10 digs per set as the Battling Bishops posted a 1-2 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-0 loss to William Peace, Cline tallied five kills, 12 digs and one assist. In a 3-1 victory over Ferrum, Cline notched a double-double with 13 kills and 29 digs to go along with five assists, two service aces and one block. Finally, in a 3-0 loss to Salem, Cline totaled six kills, 20 digs, two assists and one block.
