USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - Sept. 27, 2017

Golfer of the Week
Grady Anderson, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina finished first at the Don Scalf Invitational last week by shooting an eight-under par 136. In the two-day event, Anderson opened with a three-under par 69 and finished with a five-under par 67. His performance helped the Bishops to a first place finish at the event. Also Nominated: Lance Keiser, Ferrum; Tyler Bray, Maryville; Niklas Grotterud, Averett; Mark Connelly, Huntingdon.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Tyler Bray, Maryville - The freshman from Lutz, Florida participated in two events over the past two weeks. At the Rhodes College Fall Classic on September 17-18, Bray finished tied for fourth by shooting a three-under par 213. In the 54-hole event, Bray opened with a three-under par 69, followed with another three-under par 69 and finished with a three-over par 75. He becomes just the second golfer in program history to finish a 54-hole event under par. Bray helped the Scots to an eighth place finish at the event. Last week, Bray placed tied for third in a dual meet versus Hiwassee College by shooting a three-over par 73 in the 18-hole event. Also Nominated: Niklas Grotterud, Averett; Juan de Giacomi, N.C. Wesleyan.
