USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - March 21, 2018

Tri-Golfers of the Week
Scott Campbell, Greensboro - The sophomore from Kernersville, North Carolina finished tied for sixth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational last week by shooting a three-under par 213. In the three-day event, Campbell opened with an even-par 72, followed with a two-over par 74 and finished with a five-under par 67 to help the Pride to a tied for tenth place team finish. 

Aaron Purviance, Methodist - The senior from Winston-Salem, North Carolina finished tied for sixth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational last week by shooting a three-under par 213. In the three-day event, Purviance opened with a four-over par 76, followed with a seven-under par 65 and finished with an even-par 72 to help the Monarchs finish first and set a new tournament team scoring record. 

Dan Shepherd, Methodist - The junior from Wilton, New York finished tied for sixth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational last week by shooting a three-under par 213. In the three-day event, Shepherd opened with a two-under par 70, followed with an even par 72 and finished with a one-under par 71 to help the Monarchs finish first and set a new tournament team scoring record.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Sam Rogers, LaGrange - The freshman from Sebring, Florida finished tied for 37th at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational last week by shooting a five-over par 221. In the three-day event, Rogers opened with a one-over par 73, followed with a two-under par 70 and finished with a six-over par 78 to help the Panthers to a 19th place team finish. Also Nominated: Jurre van der Lende, Averett.
