USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - Sept. 26, 2018

Golfer of the Week
Henry Gee, Huntingdon - The senior from Hiram, Georgia has played in two events to start the season for the Hawks. He placed 27th at the NCAA DIII Preview in Nicholasville, Kentucky on September 17-18 by shooting a ten-over par 226. In the three-round event, Gee opened with two five-over par 77s before finishing with an even-par 72 to help the Hawks to a fifth place team finish. He then finished second at the Rhodes Fall Classic in Tunica, Mississippi last week by shooting an 11-under par 205. In the three-round event, Gee opened with a four-under par 68, followed with a five-under par 67 and finished with a two-under par 70 to help the Hawks to a first place team finish. Also Nominated: Austin Fisher, Brevard; Samuli Ahvenoja, Averett; Scott Campbell, Greensboro; Dustin Wood, N.C. Wesleyan.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Mathias Andersen, LaGrange - The freshman from Viborg, Denmark finished tied for 17th at the Rhodes Fall Classic in Tunica, Mississippi last week by shooting a one-under par 215. In the three-round event, Andersen opened with an even-par 72, followed with a one-under par 71 and finished with an even-par 72 to help the Panthers to a third place team finish. Also Nominated: None.
