USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - Oct. 24, 2018

Golfer of the Week
Drew Mathers, Huntingdon - The junior from Mobile, Alabama placed first out of 96 golfers at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament hosted by Guilford College last week by shooting a four-under par 138. It is Mathers' second collegiate victory and first this season. In the two-round event, Mathers shot a two-under par 69 in each round to help the Hawks to a second place team finish. Also Nominated: Ben Potter, Averett; Dan Shepherd, Methodist; Tyler Bray, Maryville.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Jack Phenecie, Pfeiffer - The freshman from Davidson, North Carolina finished tied for eighth out of 96 golfers at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament hosted by Guilford College last week by shooting a three-over par 145. In the two-round event, Phenecie five-over par 76 and finished with a two-under par 69 to help the Falcons to a tie for eighth place in the team rankings. Also Nominated: Mathias Anderson, LaGrange; Carson Whitton, Huntingdon; Will DeMersseman, Covenant.
