Men's Basketball Player of the Week
A.J. Frye, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior center from Wilmington, North Carolina averaged a double-double of 17.5 points and 14.5 rebounds to go along with 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as the Battling Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 96-93 win at William Peace, Frye notched a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five assists, two steals and one block. In a 128-123, overtime, victory over Pfeiffer, Frye posted a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds with seven assists and one steal. Nick Clifton, Maryville - The freshman forward from Sylvania, Georgia was a force on the boards as he averaged 11.5 rebounds to go along with 4.0 points, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game as the Scots posted a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 78-66 win over Piedmont, Clifton notched career-highs of 12 rebounds, six points, three assists and two steals to go along with one block. Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Kimberly Schuh, Meredith - The Apex, North Carolina sophomore forward notched a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 66-56 victory over USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan in the Avenging Angels' only contest last week. Schuh also added two assists in the win. Brooke Anders, Mary Baldwin - The Thomasville, North Carolina freshman guard notched game highs of 21 points and three steals in a 71-63 victory over USA South foe Pfeiffer in the Fighting Squirrels only contest last week. Anders added five rebounds and four assists, without a turnover, in the win.
