The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its
All-Conference awards for men's tennis. Christopher Newport
led the way with five members as Methodist and Averett were close
behind with four members each. Methodist's Keith Crisco has
been named the Player of the Year while Eddie Glidewell of
Christopher Newport is the Rookie of the Year. Christopher
Newport's Rush Cole was named the 2005 Coach of the Year.
Criscoe, a junior from Southern Pines, N.C. helped lead the
Monarchs to the Conference regular season title, as Methodist was
8-9 overall and 6-0 in the Conference. He had a 3-0
conference record at #1 singles and a 5-0 record at #1 doubles.
A freshman from Warrenton, Va., Glidewell helped the Captains
finish third in the USA South with a 12-4 overall record and 4-2 in
the conference. Glidewell was 4-2 in conference action at #1
doubles and was 4-2 in singles play, mostly at the #1flight.
Cole is in his ninth year at the helm of the Captains. His
team posted a record of 12-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play
this season. This year is the third time Cole has been
honored as the USA South Coach of the Year.
