The first round of the 2023 USA South Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament has concluded with three of the top four higher-seeded teams claiming victories.

Top-seeded Meredith swept eighth-seeded N.C. Wesleyan, 3-0, while second-seeded Greensboro did the same to seventh-seeded Brevard in a 3-0 victory to begin the evening. Third-seeded Southern Virginia held off sixth-seeded Methodist for a 3-1 win while the match of the night saw fifth-seeded Salem and fourth-seeded William Peace go the distance with the Spirits coming out on top, 3-2.

The semifinal round is now set as Salem will travel to Meredith and Southern Virginia will head to Greensboro for matches on Thursday, November 9. The winners of those contests will meet for the tournament title hosted by the highest-remaining seed on Saturday, November 11.
