  • Football Offensive Player of the Week
    Ethan Beamish, Brevard - The Simpsonville, South Carolina junior quarterback tossed five touchdowns and became Brevard's all-time leading passer in a 44-21 win over USA South foe Methodist last week. Beamish was 21-for-29 with 299 yards through the air in the victory.     Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
    Jaelan Pile, Methodist - The Concord, North Carolina freshman wide receiver caught his first career touchdown pass in a 44-21 loss to USA South foe Brevard last week. Pile collected two passes for a career-high 83 yards receiving. Also Nominated: None.

    Football Defensive Player of the Week
    Tyler Barrett, Maryville - The Marietta, Georgia senior defensive back recovered two fumbles, taking one back for a touchdown, in a 42-11 win over USA South rival Belhaven last week. Barrett collected a first quarter fumble which led to a touchdown on the next offensive possession while his scoop and score came in the third quarter and was a 57-yard scamper. He also added two solo tackles in the victory. Also Nominated: Trey Williams, Brevard; Braylon Miller, Huntingdon; Deon King Jr., LaGrange.

    Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
    Brandon Broughton, Brevard - The Lawrenceville, Georgia freshman defensive back accumulated four total tackles, two pass breakups, and one quarterback hurry in a 44-21 win over USA South foe Methodist last week. Broughton's lone solo tackle resulted in a loss of six yards. Also Nominated: Malikih Montgomery, Huntingdon.

    Football Special Teams Player of the Week
    Zackary Orr, Brevard - The Charleston, South Carolina graduate student returner set the tone early by returning the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in a 44-21 win over USA South foe Methodist last week. He also added two more scores as a wide receiver. Also Nominated: Aubrey Carter, LaGrange.

  • Men's Soccer Player of the Week
    Ausar Omwenga, William Peace - The Cary, North Carolina junior forward scored twice with two assists in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week, a 5-0 victory over Greensboro. Omwenga assisted on the eventual game-winner in the 23rd minute before scoring the second and fifth WPU goals of the match. Also Nominated: Benjamin Simister, Southern Virginia; Steven Floyd, Methodist.

    Men's Soccer Defender of the Week
    Matheus Rossi, Brevard - The Vitoria, Espirito Santo, Brazil senior goalkeeper posted a shutout in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week, a 1-0 victory over Pfeiffer. Rossi stopped all three shots on goal faced to secure the clean sheet. Also Nominated: Ace Flores, Southern Virginia; Ayden Miller, William Peace.

    Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
    Evan Catten, Southern Virginia - The Wynnewood, Pennsylvania freshman midfielder tallied the game-winning goal in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week, a 3-1 victory over Mary Baldwin. Catten scored in the 79th minute to push the Knights ahead for good. Also Nominated: Zach Marlier, William Peace.

  • Women's Soccer Player of the Week
    Kelsey Burge, Methodist - The Hope Mills, North Carolina senior forward tallied the game-winning goal in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week, a 1-0 win over N.C. Wesleyan. Burge scored in the fifth minute of the game and it ended up being enough to push the Monarchs to victory. Also Nominated: Brennan Howell, Brevard; Khamani Spencer, Pfeiffer; Mia Rumachik, William Peace; Mallory Carter, Greensboro.

    Women's Soccer Defender of the Week
    Brooke Hunter, Methodist - The Woodbine, Maryland sophomore defender was part of a backline that helped the Monarchs post a shutout in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week. In a 1-0 win over N.C. Wesleyan, the Methodist defense did not allow a shot on goal. Also Nominated: Gaby Vazquez, William Peace; Lindsay Fox, Greensboro.

    Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
    Brennan Howell, Brevard - The Youngsville, North Carolina freshman forward tallied the game-winning goal in the team's lone non-USA South tournament contest last week, a 2-1 win at Pfeiffer. Howell's goal in the 82nd minute preserved an unbeaten regular season for the Tornados. Also Nominated: Angelica Landazuri, William Peace.

  • Volleyball Player of the Week
    Sydney Bassett, Southern Virginia - The senior outside hitter from Winston-Salem, North Carolina averaged 4.00 kills and 3.33 digs per set as the Knights posted a 2-1 record last week against USA South foes with wins over Pfeiffer and Meredith coupled with a loss to Salem. Bassett posted two double-doubles with week match highs of 19 kills, 17 digs, three blocks (twice), two assists, and one service ace (twice).     Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
    Morgan Mayfield, Greensboro - The sophomore libero from Mount Airy, North Carolina averaged 6.25 digs per set as the Pride posted a 2-0 record last week with wins over USA South foes Brevard and N.C. Wesleyan. Mayfield posted week match-highs of 32 digs, three assists (twice), two service aces, and one kill. Also Nominated: Bailey Lance, Brevard; Megan Murray, Meredith; Gracie Fulton, Southern Virginia; Gabby Edwards, Pfeiffer; McKenzie Tullock, Salem; Jordyn Chinigo, William Peace; Blake O'Brien, Methodist.

    Volleyball Rookie of the Week
    Leah Rymer, Salem - The first-year setter from China Grove, North Carolina averaged 9.50 assists and 3.33 digs per set as the Spirits posted a 2-1 record last week with a wins over Southern Virginia and Eastern Mennonite coupled with a loss to William Peace. Rymer posted a double-double in each match with week highs of 46 assists, 14 digs, five kills, two blocks, and two service aces.
