The USA South Athletic Conference will once again give institutions the opportunity to spotlight student-athletes each Wednesday as a part of the Conference's #WhyD3Wednesday initiative. In its eighth year, #WhyD3Wednesday allows student-athletes to briefly explain why they chose to attend their Division III institution as well as share some of their favorite things in life. To view this week's submission, please see below and make sure to follow the hashtag #WhyD3Wednesday on the USA South's X (@usa_south) and Instagram (@usa_south) social media platforms throughout the year as League student-athletes share their stories.
Truman Meyer - Southern Virginia University - Junior - Men's Cross Country, Track & Field
"I chose to attend a Division III institution so I would be able to compete in athletics at a collegiate level. I chose Southern Virginia because of the campus environment and its proximity to my hometown. Academically, SVU’s smaller size enables me to have a closer relationship with my professors, giving them more time to help me in my studies. Being part of my teams is a fantastic experience as I’ve been able to build very strong friendships and understandings with my teammates. I can count on them to help uplift me in various ways if needed and I’m happy to do the same for them."
