USA South Athletes of the Week - November 10, 2025

  • Football Offensive Player of the Week
    Tacaris Bozeman, LaGrange - The Montgomery, Alabama junior running back posted 186 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in a 38-6 win over USA South rival Belhaven which clinched at least a share of the USA South championship and NCAA Division III Tournament berth for the Panthers. On the ground, Bozeman carried the ball 11 times for 116 yards and two scores while also catching two passes for 70 yards. His 33-yard touchdown less than six minutes into the game set the tone for the Panther offense. Also Nominated: Ethan Beamish, Brevard; KJ Brown, Greensboro.

    Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
    Cameron Turner, Greensboro - The Lakeland, Florida freshman quarterback was in on all but one of the six touchdowns Greensboro scored in its 38-29 win over USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan last week. Turner was 17-for-24 through the air for 296 yards with four touchdowns. He also added 110 yards on the ground and scored the eventual game-winning touchdown with less than four minutes remaining in the game.     Football Defensive Player of the Week
    Legend Doggett, LaGrange - The McDonough, Georgia senior defensive back picked off two passes in a 38-6 win over USA South rival Belhaven which clinched at least a share of the USA South championship and NCAA Division III Tournament berth for the Panthers. Doggett's first interception came in the opening quarter, was returned 15 yards to the Belhaven 33 yardline and led to the first score of the game two plays later. His second pickoff, in the second quarter as Belhaven was driving to cut into the Panther lead, was grabbed at the LaGrange three yardline and returned 14 yards.     Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
    Marvin Pulley, Brevard - The Donsonville, Georgia freshman linebacker totaled seven tackles with one interception in a 47-20 win over USA South foe Methodist last week. Pully accumulated four solo tackles and three assisted take downs while his interception occurred on the first offensive play of the game and led to the first score of the game four plays later.     Football Special Teams Player of the Week
    Tim McReynolds, Huntingdon - The Geneva, Alabama senior kick returner scored on a kickoff and a punt in a 44-21 victory over USA South foe Southern Virginia last week. McReynolds averaged 38.7 yards per kickoff return, including an 86-yard score in the first quarter to give the Hawks a 13-7 lead. He then took his only punt return of the day to the house, 71 yards, in the third quarter which pushed the Huntingdon lead to 20 points.   • Volleyball Player of the Week
    Aspen Bradley, Salem - The senior middle hitter from Redmond, Oregon averaged 4.58 points, 4.08 kills, and 2.23 digs per set as the Spirits posted a 3-0 record last week with wins over USA South foes Brevard and William Peace, along with a victory over Averett. During the week, Bradley became Salem's all-time kills leader as she posted two double-doubles along with match-highs of 21 kills, 11 digs, three blocks (three times), one assist, and one service ace.     Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
    Morgan Mayfield, Greensboro - The senior libero from Mount Airy, North Carolina averaged 5.67 digs per set as the Pride posted 2-0 record last week with wins over USA South foes Southern Virginia and N.C. Wesleyan. Mayfield posted week match-highs of 18 digs, two assists, one service ace (twice), and one kill. Also Nominated: Gracie Payne, William Peace; Madison Bozarth, Salem; Gabby Edwards, Pfeiffer; Megan Murray, Meredith; Abigail Kelly, Brevard; Gracie Fulton, Southern Virginia.

    Volleyball Rookie of the Week
    Aubrey Chesson, William Peace - The freshman outside hitter from Wake Forest, North Carolina averaged 3.63 kills and 3.63 digs per set as the Pacers dropped matches against USA South foes Meredith and Salem last week. Chesson posted one double-double last week with match-highs of 20 digs, 16 kills, and two assists.   • Men's Basketball Player of the Week
    Will Gray, Greensboro - The Winston Salem, North Carolina junior guard posted a triple-double in the team's lone contest last week, a 77-74 loss to Heidelberg in overtime. Gray accumulated 17 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists to go along with two blocks and one steal.  Also Nominated: Doug Smith, Pfeiffer; Jadon Carnes, Brevard; Rashod Smith, N.C. Wesleyan; Parker Hodgson, William Peace.

    Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
    Ro'Mello Pegues, N.C. Wesleyan - The Dunn, North Carolina freshman guard averaged 10.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Battling Bishops. In an 89-72 win over Johnson and Wales (N.C.), Pegues scored 17 points with three rebounds, one assist, and one block. In an 85-61 victory over Bridgewater, Pegues totaled four points, one rebound, and one steal. Also Nominated: Noah Osuji, Brevard.

  • Women's Basketball Player of the Week
    Ava Hairston, Pfeiffer - The sophomore guard from Winston-Salem, North Carolina had team highs of 16 points and four steals in the Falcons' lone contest of last week, a 62-50 win over Warren Wilson. Hairston also added six rebounds and two steals in the victory. Also Nominated: Kensly Stewart, Greensboro; Zikira Henderson, William Peace.

    Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
    Kensly Stewart, Greensboro - The freshman guard from Marion, North Carolina had team highs of 23 points and five steals in the Pride's lone contest of last week, a 108-86 loss to Virginia Wesleyan. Stewart also added four rebounds and one assist in the defeat. Also Nominated: None.
