The USA South Athletic Conference will once again give institutions the opportunity to spotlight student-athletes each Wednesday as a part of the Conference's #WhyD3Wednesday initiative. In its ninth year, #WhyD3Wednesday allows student-athletes to briefly explain why they chose to attend their Division III institution as well as share some of their favorite things in life. To view this week's submission, please see below and make sure to follow the hashtag #WhyD3Wednesday on the USA South's X (@usa_south) and Instagram (@usa_south) social media platforms throughout the year as League student-athletes share their stories.
Jamie Holton - Methodist University - Graduate Student - Volleyball
"I chose to attend a Division III institution because it gave me the opportunity to play volleyball at a high level while giving me the time to pursue my education to the highest degree. I chose Methodist because of the environment and overall campus culture. My team and roommates as well as those in admissions made me feel welcome and supported as a transfer. I really like the psychology program and the options it gives through exploring a concentration in my major and having two minors. In addition to all of these reasons, I get to pursue a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling to start my career and better my future during my final season."
