USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - March 11, 2026

  • Men's Co-Golfers of the Week
    Haden Ruby, Methodist - The New London, North Carolina senior placed tied for second out of 100 golfers at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational last week by shooting a five-under par 211. In the three-round event, Ruby opened with a one-over par 73, followed by a two-under par 70, and closed with a four-under par 68. 

    Todd Moyer, Methodist - The Cornelius, North Carolina junior, competing in his first year of collegiate golf, placed tied for second out of 100 golfers at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational last week by shooting a five-under par 211. In the three-round event, Moyer opened with a one-under par 71, followed by a two-under par 70, and closed with another two-under par 70.

    Also Nominated: Nick Johnson, Southern Virginia.

    Men's Golf Rookie of the Week

    Yvette Gorden, Huntingdon - The Pike Road, Alabama junior placed tied for fifth out of 99 golfers at the Savannah Invitational last week by shooting a four-under par 142. In the two-round event, Gorden opened with a two-under par 71 and finished with another two-under par 71. Also Nominated: Kiley Donovan, Methodist; Kirstyn Page, Pfeiffer; Keegan Goins, Piedmont; Sydney Richards, Southern Virginia.

    Women's Golf Rookie of the Week
    Lila Polakowski, Piedmont - The Canton, Michigan freshman placed tied for 59th out of 99 golfers at the Savannah Invitational last week by shooting a 12-over par 158. In the two-round event, Polakowski opened with an eight-over par 81 and finished with a four-over par 77. Also Nominated: Berkley Wiggins, Huntingdon; Madi Frisby, Southern Virginia.
