The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 All-Conference awards for women's tennis. Individually, N.C. Wesleyan's Andrea Elaez Miranda was named Player of the Year, her coach, Albie Brice earned Coach of the Year accolades, and Methodist's Shea Bieniek grabbed Rookie of the Year honors. Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school.
All awards were determined by a vote of the USA South women's tennis coaches.
Miranda, a senior from Lima, Peru, is named USA South Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Playing at the number-one singles position for all of the Conference season, Miranda posted a perfect 3-0 record against USA South foes. In doubles, with her teammate Ivanna Torres, the duo was unbeaten with a 3-0 record against League opponents as well as a 12-4 overall mark for the regular season. For her efforts this season, Miranda earned All-Conference honors for the fourth time in her career. She claims first team honors for the second straight spring to go with two second team honors to begin her collegiate career. Finally, Miranda added USA South Player of the Week accolades once and was a part of the USA South Doubles Team of the Week three times this season.
Bieniek, a freshman from Fayetteville, North Carolina, becomes the first Monarch since 2008 to earn USA South Women's Tennis Rookie of the Year honors. Playing primarily at the number-four position, Bieniek compiled a perfect 16-0 dual match record, including a 5-0 mark against USA South foes during the regular season. In doubles, at the number-one position with partner Emma Hulicki, the duo was 12-4 overall with a 4-1 mark against League opponents. For her efforts during the year, Bieniek earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors while also being named USA South Rookie of the Week four times and a part of the USA South Doubles Team of the Week once.
Brice, in his ninth year as the head coach of N.C. Wesleyan, receives his fourth USA South Women's Tennis Coach of the Year honor. He has guided the Battling Bishops to a 14-6 overall record and a 5-0 Conference mark. N.C. Wesleyan earned its eighth all-time regular season title and the fourth consecutive crown this spring. The Battling Bishops have now won 30 consecutive regular season matches against USA South foes. The 14 overall victories this season are the most since the 2019 squad finished with 16 wins. N.C. Wesleyan will now look to capture the program's fourth consecutive USA South Tournament title.
