2026 USA South Baseball Awards Announced

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 All-Conference awards for baseball. Individually, Greensboro's Trevor Testerman was named Player of the Year while his coach, Chris Fenisey, earned Coach of the Year. The Pfeiffer duo of James Eason and Cameron Cooper were named Pitcher of the Year and Rookie Pitcher of the Year, respectively. Finally, Mary Baldwin's Patrick Sido collected Rookie of the Year honors to round out the individual awards. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school who their coach felt displayed the best sportsmanship this season.

All honors are determined by votes from the baseball coach at each institution.

Testerman, a junior outfielder from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, becomes the third Pride, first since 2006, to be named USA South Player of the Year. During the regular season, he led the League in batting average (.496), on-base percentage (.588), slugging percentage (1.016), RBI (62), home runs (16), and stolen bases (25). The 16 long balls are a new single-season Greensboro program record. In USA South games-only, Testerman led the League in batting average (.548), on-base percentage (.629), slugging percentage (1.226), hits (46), RBI (49), triples (4), and home runs (14). In a March 21st game at Pfeiffer, Testerman set a new single-game USA South record by hitting four home runs. For his efforts, Testerman earns First Team All-Conference accolades for the first time in his career to go along with being named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week twice, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division III Hitter of the Week once, and USA South Player of the Week three times.

Eason, a sophomore from Rockingham, North Carolina, is the first Falcon to be named USA South Pitcher of the Year. During the regular season, Eason compiled a 5-3 record in 11 appearances, nine starts, with a 4.40 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched. In Conference contests-only, Eason posted a 5-1 record in seven starts with a 3.37 ERA while striking out 27 batters. This season, he collects First Team All-Conference honors as a pitcher after being named USA South Pitcher of the Week twice.

Sido, a freshman outfielder from Springfield, Virginia becomes the first Fighting Squirrel to be named USA South Baseball Rookie of the Year. During the regular season, Sido ranked third in the Conference with a .670 slugging percentage, 50 RBI, and 16 doubles. He also compiled a .372 batting average with 32 runs scored, eight home runs, and six stolen bases. Against USA South opposition, Sido posted a .370 batting average with a .617 slugging percentage to go along with 22 runs scored, 25 RBI, nine doubles, and three home runs. For his efforts this season, Sido was named First Team All-Conference as an outfielder and collected USA South Rookie of the Week honors three times.

A freshman pitcher from New London, North Carolina, Cooper becomes the first Falcon to earn USA South Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Year accolades. Cooper posted a regular season record of 3-0 with one save in 12 appearances, all in relief. In a total of 35.2 innings pitched, Cooper posted a 2.02 ERA with 39 strikeouts, which ranked tied for fourth in the League. Against USA South foes-only, Cooper was 2-0 with one save, compiling a 2.25 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 20.0 innings. For his efforts this season, Cooper was named a Second Team All-Conference relief pitcher and earned USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Week twice.

In his fifth season at the helm of Greensboro, Fenisey earns just the third USA South Baseball Coach of the Year honor in the Pride program's 34-year history (Scott Rash, 1995 & 1998). The Pride captured the program's first USA South Regular Season crown by accumulating a 16-5 Conference record. The 16 League wins are a new program single-season record, besting last year's number by one. With an overall record of 24-15, Greensboro is just four wins away from tying last year's program record for single-season wins (28). Fenisey has now led the Pride to three consecutive 20+ win seasons.
