2026 USA South Men's Lacrosse Awards Announced

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 All-Conference awards for men's lacrosse. Individually, Pfeiffer nearly swept the honors as Ethan Miles was named Offensive Player of the Year, Michael Keane grabbed Defensive Player of the Year while their coach, Tucker Nelson, collected Coach of the Year. Southern Virginia's Myles Nielson was named Rookie of the Year to round out the individual awards. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school who their coach felt displayed the best sportsmanship this season.

All awards are voted on by the men's lacrosse coach at each institution.

Miles, a junior attackman from Matthews, North Carolina, becomes the first men's lacrosse player in Conference history to be named Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. Following the end of the regular season, Miles totaled 100 points on 50 goals and 50 assists to go along with 34 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. In League-only play, Miles led the Conference in points (64), goals (35), and assists (29) while adding 19 ground balls and four caused turnovers. For his efforts, Miles earned First Team All-Conference accolades at attack for the second consecutive season while being named USA South Player of the Week three times.

Keane, a junior defender from Somers, New York, becomes just the second Falcon men's lacrosse student-athlete to be named USA South Defensive Player of the Year (Tucker Hill, 2022). Through regular season play, Keane was the only player to be ranked in the top-ten of the League in both ground balls per game (3.79, ninth) and caused turnovers per game (2.43, fourth). In total, Keane grabbed 53 ground balls and caused 34 turnovers while also adding a goal and four assists. In USA South-only contests, Keane totaled 26 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers which was tied for the second-most. For his efforts this spring, Keane earned First Team All-Conference accolades at defense for the second consecutive season and was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week once.

Nielson, a freshman attackman from Tremonton, Utah, is the fourth Knight men's lacrosse student-athlete to be named USA South Rookie of the Year in the past five seasons. Nielson led all USA South rookies with 60 points on 37 goals and 23 assists during the regular season while also adding 39 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Against Conference foes, Nielson totaled 37 points, which ranked eighth in the League, on 21 goals and 16 assists, which ranked tied for sixth in the Conference. For his efforts this season, Nielson earned First Team All-Conference accolades at attack and USA South Rookie of the Week twice.

In his sixth season as head coach at Pfeiffer, Nelson earns his second USA South Coach of the Year accolade (2023). He led the Falcons to a 13-2 overall record with a perfect 8-0 mark in League play to give the program its fourth consecutive USA South regular season championship. Pfeiffer has now won 27 consecutive regular season contests against USA South foes. The two overall losses are currently the least since the 2023 squad posted a final record of 16-2. Nelson now leads his team into the USA South Tournament looking to capture the title for the four straight year and the fifth time in the past six seasons.
