Morrison Hired as Salem Dir. of Sports Info./Communications/Marketing

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Salem College Director of Athletics Michael Williams has announced the hiring of Alexandria Morrison as the department's new Director of Sports Information, Communication & Marketing. Morrison joins Salem Athletics with a strong background in athletic communications, sports administration, event operations, and student-athlete engagement. She brings experience from collegiate athletics making her a valuable addition to the Salem Athletics leadership team.

A graduate of Temple University, Morrison earned a Master of Science in Sport Business with a concentration in Athletic Administration. During her time at Temple, she served as a Strategic Communications Assistant within the Department of Athletics, where she assisted with athletic communications, media relations, content creation, live stats and storytelling initiatives that highlighted the accomplishments of Temple's student-athletes and programs.

Prior to Temple, Morrison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in Sports Studies from Penn State University. While at Penn State, she worked as a Recruiting Intern for the football program, coordinating recruiting visits, managing compliance protocols, and preparing detailed travel materials for the coaching staff.
Morrison has also gained valuable experience in event management and game operations through positions with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, where she contributed to the execution of large-scale sporting events and fan experiences.

A passionate advocate for youth sports and community engagement, Morrison has volunteered with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Mid-Atlantic Conference since 2018. As a track and field official, she has supported competitions serving more than 1,000 athletes annually while helping provide positive competitive experiences for young student-athletes.

Her connection to athletics extends beyond her professional experiences. Morrison was a former collegiate track and field student-athlete and team captain, developing a deep appreciation for leadership, teamwork, and student-athlete development. She also served on her institution's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), representing the interests of student-athletes at both the campus and conference levels.
Morrison holds certifications in Diversity StudiesSports Journalism, and ADA Training, and is proficient in Microsoft OfficeAdobe Creative Suite, and AP Style writing.
