The USA South Athletic Conference Presidents Cup symbolizes the league's top overall athletic program each year. As of the 2005-2006 school year, there is a separate men's and women's Cup as well the overall cup. Points are distributed based on the number of schools sponsoring the particular sport.
Beginning with the 2015-16 season, for all sports with the exception of football which has no post-season play, the team winning the USA South Tournament Championship received two bonus points for that sport while the runner-up received one bonus point. In the sports of golf and cross country, the athlete placing first earned two bonus points for his/her institution while the runner-up earned one bonus point. If athletes from the same institution placed first and second, that institution earned the two bonus points for the first place finish only.
Beginning with the 2016-17 season, for all sports with divisional standings, the points are separated by divisions.
Since the inception of the Presidents Cup, Greensboro College, Meredith College, Methodist University, N.C. Wesleyan University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Virginia University, along with former full-members Christopher Newport University, Piedmont University, and St. Andrews Presbyterian College, have been the recipients. Christopher Newport has laid claim to a League-best 31 cups while other multi-cup institutions include Methodist (20), Southern Virginia (9), Piedmont (8), St. Andrews (4), and N.C. Wesleyan (2). Greensboro, Meredith, and Pfeiffer have one Presidents Cup apiece.
