(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The USA South Athletic Conference is
proud to officially unveil a commemorative logo that will be used
over the next 12 months as the League celebrates its 50th
Anniversary. Originally named the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference, the named was changed to the USA South Athletic
Conference prior to the 2003-04 academic year. The USA South will
celebrate this milestone with 13 full
member institutions and two affiliate members.
The 50th Anniversary logo will be widely visible throughout the
Conference's footprint. On each member institution's campus, as
well as at each Conference championship, various banners and
signage will be present. The USA South has also adopted the phrase
"Five Decades of Champions and Graduates" to signify its goal of
not only producing quality athletics but successful
student-athletes. Finally, the commemorative logo will be a focal
point on the Conference's website which is in the midst of a
redesign to be released in the coming weeks.
In addition to the release of the 50th Anniversary logo, the USA
South has several plans to celebrate this milestone. During each of
the three athletic seasons, the Conference will release 50th
Anniversary Teams which will feature the top athletes from
each present member institution who competed in the USA South.
Also, a "50 Years in 50 Weeks" segment will be released each week
which will highlight some of the great achievements and
championship performances in Conference history. Finally, the USA
South will debut its 50th Anniversary Video which not only
showcases the member institutions but gives a brief history lesson
on the Conference's athletic past.
