Unveils 50th Anniversary Logo

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The USA South Athletic Conference is proud to officially unveil a commemorative logo that will be used over the next 12 months as the League celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Originally named the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the named was changed to the USA South Athletic Conference prior to the 2003-04 academic year. The USA South will celebrate this milestone with 13 full member institutions and two affiliate members.

The 50th Anniversary logo will be widely visible throughout the Conference's footprint. On each member institution's campus, as well as at each Conference championship, various banners and signage will be present. The USA South has also adopted the phrase "Five Decades of Champions and Graduates" to signify its goal of not only producing quality athletics but successful student-athletes. Finally, the commemorative logo will be a focal point on the Conference's website which is in the midst of a redesign to be released in the coming weeks.

In addition to the release of the 50th Anniversary logo, the USA South has several plans to celebrate this milestone. During each of the three athletic seasons, the Conference will release 50th Anniversary Teams which will feature the top athletes from each present member institution who competed in the USA South. Also, a "50 Years in 50 Weeks" segment will be released each week which will highlight some of the great achievements and championship performances in Conference history. Finally, the USA South will debut its 50th Anniversary Video which not only showcases the member institutions but gives a brief history lesson on the Conference's athletic past.
