Michael Brewington was a three-time All-American while starring on the Methodist University baseball team (1985-1989). He was named All-Conference in each of his four seasons on the diamond. Additionally, Brewington helped the Monarchs capture two Conference championships and earn two trips to the Division III World Series. In 1988, Brewington led the nation in RBIs with 71. He currently holds the Methodist career records for RBIs (231), doubles (54), home runs (33) and walks (160). His RBI total is also a Conference career record. Brewington was drafted and signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1989 and was an All-Star at the Rookie, Class Single-A and high Single-A levels. In 2005, he was inducted into the Methodist University Athletics Hall of Fame. Finally, in 2013, Brewington was named to the USA South's 50th Anniversary Baseball Team.

Laura Lee Brown was a two-time All-American, a four-time All-Conference performer and the 1990 Conference Player of the Year while leading the Greensboro College volleyball squad to two Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships during her career (1987-1990). In 1991, Brown received several athletic and academic honors including the NCAA Woman of the Year from Hanes Her Way. She was also named the NCAA/Sara Lee Female Athlete of the Year. Brown currently holds school records for kills and service aces in a five-set match, blocks in a four-set match, seasonal and career kills per match average and is one of five players to have recorded a triple-double in program history. In 1991, Brown was inducted into the Greensboro College Athletics Hall of Fame. Finally, in 2005, she was named to the USA South's 25th Anniversary of Women's Athletics Team and in 2013 was a part of the USA South's 50th Anniversary Volleyball Team.
