AUSTIN, Texas – Piedmont women's soccer junior, DEVIN HAUPT, was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III team, which was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Haupt makes her first appearance on the All-America team as a second-teamer after being chosen as an All-District player the past two seasons.
The Lady Lions have had four other players earn such honors while Haupt makes it 12 selections for the Piedmont athletic program.
Haupt started a career-high 16 games as a defender and scored two game-winning goals as the Lady Lions finished with a 17-5-1 record.
Piedmont forced 16 shutouts and held opponents to a .43 goals per game average and 9.9 shots per game average.
As Piedmont made its run to its fourth USA South Women's Soccer Championship, the Lady Lions defense allowed just one goal in three games. Piedmont also played its closest NCAA tournament game in program history as the Lady Lions fell 2-1 to No. 17 Lynchburg.
In a 1-0 win over Oglethorpe, Haupt scored her first-career goal in the 38th minute to lead Piedmont to the win. Haupt again delivered heroics in the 1-0 double-overtime win against conference rival Huntingdon.
Tied 0-0 midway through the first overtime period, Haupt delivered a free-kick from 45-yards out to give her her second game-winning goal of the season.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. In addition, nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's matches at their respective positions.
