Mike Christie has completed 19 years with the USA South Athletic Conference after first joining as Sports Information Director in July of 2006. In January of 2008, Christie was promoted to Assistant Commissioner and then to Associate Commissioner in December of 2013.
While serving as the primary media contact for the USA South, Christie's other roles include coordination of the Conference's award program, League schedule construction, liaison to the member athletic communication staffs, coordinator of special League projects and events, as well as management of the USA South's website and social media platforms.
Christie served three years on the Division III Assistant/Associate Commissioners Group's Executive Committee, chairing the group for one year. Additionally, he has represented the USA South on the Division III Men's Tennis Regional Advisory Committee, was selected to attend the NCAA's Effective Facilitation Workshop, and served as a facilitator at the NCAA's Career In Sports Forum. Finally, Christie is trained as an NCAA DISC Workshop facilitator.
Prior to joining the USA South, Christie was the Assistant Sports Information Director at Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island while also serving as the Director of Communications of the Little East Conference for two years. Prior to that, he completed year-long internships in the sports information departments at Rhode Island College and Providence College.
A native of Ocala, Florida, Christie graduated from the University of Florida in December 2002 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports sciences with a focus in sports management and a minor in business administration.
