Methodist's Praylow Earns All-American Honors
WACO, Texas Methodist University senior Kobe Praylow has been named to the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' All-America team, released Tuesday. Praylow becomes the first-ever Monarch to receive All-American status from the AFCA, as an All-Purpose player on the Second Team Specialist list.
A wide receiver and return specialist from Pamplico, South Carolina, Praylow had one of the best individual offensive seasons in Methodist history. He broke the single-season records for receptions and receiving yards, with 102 and 1,253 respectively. Both of these stats ranked number one among all D-III players in the country, at the conclusion of the regular season.
In addition to his yards through the air, Praylow ran for another 69 yards and had a total of 593 return yards (43 PR & 550 KO). This gave him a grand total of 1,914 all-purpose yards, 191.4 yards per game, which was second best in the nation.
Just last week, Praylow was named D3football Second Team Region 3 Offense this season. He also earned USA South Athletic Conference Offensive & Special Teams Player of the Year awards along with being an All-USA South First Team honoree at wide receiver and return specialist.
Praylow joins an elite list of Monarchs to be named an All-American, by various organizations, as he is only the 12th player to achieve this status. For Methodist this brings the all-time total to 14 honors.
