Methodist Captures USA South Women's Golf Title
(SPARTANBURG, SC) - The 2023 USA South Women's Golf Tournament has finished its final round at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina with Methodist defending its title to become champions for the third consecutive year. Due to constant rain with no signs of letting up, the final round was cut short to nine holes.
The Monarchs led from wire-to-wire, posting a 57-over par 777 to take the title over second-place Huntingdon's 103-over par 823. Placing third with a 106-over par 826 was Piedmont.
Individually, Methodist's Jillian Drinkard took medalist honors for the third consecutive year by shooting a five-over par 185. Her Monarch teammate, Emily Gresham placed second with a nine-over par 189 followed by Erin Donovan's 14-over par 194 in third place. Maggie Williams (Methodist) with a 21-over par 201 and Emma Cox (Huntingdon) with a 22-over par 202 rounded out the all-tournament team in fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
