Southern Virginia Wins USA South Men's Track & Field Championship

(BREVARD, NC) - The 2023 USA South Men's Track & Field Championship took place Thursday-Friday, April 27-28 at the Brevard College Track & Field Complex on the campus of Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina. Southern Virginia captured the USA South championship for the second consecutive year as the Knights topped second place Methodist by 132 points.

Individually, top performers of the meet were selected based on the amount of points contributed to their team. Southern Virginia nearly swept the individual awards as Cole Oldham was named Field Athlete of the Meet, Derek Lionberger earned Rookie Field Athlete of the Meet, Dylan May collected Rookie Track Athlete of the Meet honors, and their coach, Kyle Chandler, was named Coach of the Meet. Methodist's Drew Topoly was named Track Athlete of the Meet to prevent the Knight sweep.

The top-three performers in each event were deemed All-Conference while an All-Sportsmanship team was also announced (see below).
