(STAUNTON, Va.) - The 2024 USA South Men's Basketball Tournament championship took place on the campus of Mary Baldwin University on Saturday, February 24 as the host, and top-seeded, Fighting Squirrels earned the program's first title by defeating second-seeded Greensboro, 72-62.

Scoring was at a premium to begin the game as Greensboro led just 4-2 after the first four minutes. Mary Baldwin then opened up multiple seven-point leads but the Pride came back to tie the game just before halftime with the Fighting Squirrels ultimately took a two-point advantage into the break. Mary Baldwin's lead grew to seven points early in the second half but Greensboro cut it to one a few minutes later. That is as close as the Pride would get as the Fighting Squirrels started to pull away, building as much as a 14-point advantage, en route to the ten-point win.

Mary Baldwin was led by Luke Ogle who scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Jaden Ignacio, Zach Sloan, and Quentin Hart added 13 points each for the Fighting Squirrels. Greensboro's Tim Boulware led all scorers with 19 points.
