The USA South Athletic Conference will once again give institutions the opportunity to spotlight student-athletes each Wednesday as a part of the Conference's #WhyD3Wednesday initiative. In its ninth year, #WhyD3Wednesday allows student-athletes to briefly explain why they chose to attend their Division III institution as well as share some of their favorite things in life. Nicky Black - Mary Baldwin University - Sophomore - Women's Cross Country and Track & Field
"I wanted to run in college but also to have a life outside of running. Being on a Division III team gives me the community and support I need to race my best and participate in on-campus activities and clubs, while also excelling academically. I chose Mary Baldwin in particular because I absolutely love Staunton and the Appalachian region in general. In addition, MBU has an accredited Social Work (BSW) program, one of only a few in the state."
