Rochester, NY - N.C. Wesleyan's Kamiyah Wooten has arrived at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, hosted by Nazareth College, ready to make her mark on the national stage once again. Competing at nationals for the second time in her career as just a sophomore, Wooten is set to represent the Battling Bishops after an outstanding indoor season.
Last year, Wooten made history by finishing on the podium in the 200-meter dash as a freshman. This season, she has continued to dominate, winning multiple events at the USA South Indoor Championships, including the 60-meter (7.66, prelims) and the 200-meter (25.22). She also posted an impressive 400-meter time of 55.76 at the Virginia Tech Invitational and clocked a season-best 200-meter time of 24.29 at the VMI Winter Relays.
Wooten expressed her excitement for the opportunity to compete among the best in the nation once again.
"Being back at nationals means so much to me," Wooten said. "I've worked hard all season to get here, and I'm ready to give it everything I have. Representing Wesleyan at this level is an honor, and I'm excited to compete against the best."
N.C. Wesleyan head coach Bill Dunn praised Wooten's dedication and growth throughout the season.
"Kamiyah has continued to elevate her performance every time she steps on the track," Dunn said. "She's a competitor through and through, and she's earned this moment. We're all incredibly proud of her and excited to see what she accomplishes on the national stage."
Wooten will step on the national stage Friday, March 14 in the 200-meter and 400-meter prelims. Live results and video will be available on NCAA.com.
