Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Falls in NCAA Tournament

St. Mary's City, Md. (May 7, 2025) The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team dropped an 18-9 game to St. Mary's College of Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite leading 3-2 after the first quarter, St. Mary's was able to hold Pfeiffer to just two goals in the second quarter to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.

SMC outscored Pfeiffer 6-4 in the third and shutout the Falcons in the fourth quarter, taking the 18-9 win.

Inside the Box Score
Ethan Miles led Pfeiffer with three goals on seven shots while teammates Andrew Brown and Mason Tardiff added a pair of goals each.  Khyler Johnson and Zac Gignac had one goal each to cap the Falcon scoring.

Collin Finley added a pair of assists while Dylan Sullivan provided one helper in the loss.

Pfeiffer was just 11-of-29 on faceoffs on the afternoon, their lowest percentage of the season.

The Falcons committed 19 turnovers on the day, with SMC causing 13 Pfeiffer miscues. 

Season Wrap Up
With the loss, Pfeiffer ends the season with a 15-4 overall record.  Despite the setback, Pfeiffer captured their third straight USA South regular season and tournament titles in 2025 and has won 25 straight games over USA South opponents dating back to the 2023 season.
