MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Huntingdon College has named Callie Porcher as its new head women's lacrosse coach, Director of Athletics Eric Levanda announced.
Porcher brings a combination of collegiate playing experience, coaching leadership, education and program-building experience to Huntingdon. She has served as a varsity head coach since 2020 while also contributing to the Zimbabwe Lacrosse Board and supporting youth lacrosse and community outreach initiatives.
Porcher has served as a Varsity head coach since 2020, developing strategic game plans, fostering positive and inclusive team cultures, supporting individual player development and maintaining communication with players, families and staff. Her work with the Zimbabwe Lacrosse Board has included efforts focused on the strategic growth and development of the sport, youth engagement, international collaboration and sustainable expansion.
"Callie's desire to give back to the sport of women's lacrosse was noticeable in our search process," Levanda said. "What was also evident is her passion to lead young women who love the sport that she loves. I'm excited to welcome her to Huntingdon and have her guide our women to grow as people, students and athletes, together as a team."
"I'm fired up, grateful and ready to work," Porcher said. "This is a sport I've poured everything into at every level, and getting to bring that energy here, drive this team and help them work for everything they want is exactly what I signed up for. I know Huntingdon is where God has called me to be, and I can't wait to be a Hawk and build something big with these girls."
Porcher's connection to collegiate lacrosse began at Saint Leo University, where she was a member of the university's inaugural women's lacrosse team. A former NCAA Division II student-athlete, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Leo in 2014, graduating magna cum laude. She later earned a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from American International College in 2016, graduating summa cum laude.
Porcher holds a USA Lacrosse Platinum-level coaching certificate and has remained active in the broader lacrosse community through youth programs, community outreach and fundraising initiatives. Her experience also includes work with organizations such as Morgan's Message, Seminole County Youth Lacrosse and the Headstrong Foundation.
Porcher said her coaching philosophy centers on developing student-athletes both on and off the field, with an emphasis on creating a strong team culture, establishing clear expectations and helping athletes grow academically, athletically and personally.
Porcher will lead Huntingdon's women's lacrosse program as the Hawks continue to build the program and compete in another USA South conference season in the Spring of 2027.
