The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 All-Conference awards for men's golf. Individually, the Methodist duo of Haden Ruby and Todd Moyer were named Golfer of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively, while Southern Virginia's Blair Garner collected Coach of the Year honors. Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school.
All awards, with the exception of the Coach of the Year, are determined by the national rankings as accumulated by Clippd, the official ranking service of the NCAA, from Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The maximum all-conference honoree allotment per team is five players and those nominees must have participated in at least half of the team's events throughout the entire academic year. The coach of the year was determined by a vote of the USA South men's golf coaches.
Ruby, a senior from New London, North Carolina, is the fifth-straight Monarch golfer to be named USA South Men's Golfer of the Year. It is the 19th time a Methodist golfer has been awarded the League's player of the year. Ruby currently is the 11th-ranked player in Division III, according to Clippd, and leads the USA South with a 72.1 scoring average. In 25 rounds played, Ruby has recorded 12 rounds of par or better, finishing in the top-five of three events. For his efforts this year, Ruby earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season and was named USA South Golfer of the Week twice.
Moyer, a junior from Cornelius, North Carolina, competing in collegiate golf for the first time, becomes the seventh Monarch golfer to be named USA South Rookie of the Year. Moyer is currently the 38th-ranked player in Division III, according to Clippd, and is averaging 72.9 per round. Through six events played during the regular season, he shot par or btter in eight rounds to go along with one top-five finish. Finally, Moyer earned First Team All-Conference honors to go along with three USA South Rookie Golfer of the Week nods.
Garner, in his fifth year at the helm of Southern Virginia, earns the first USA South Coach of the Year honor for a Knight men's golf coach. He has guided his team to a ranking of 32 in Division III according to Clippd. Under Garner, the Knights have improved their national ranking each of the last three seasons. In 2023-24, SVU finished 110th while ending up 46th a season ago. He has also helped groom the program's first USA South First Team All-Conference this season in Nikko Taggart. The Knights have a 294.8 stroke average in 16 varsity rounds played this season, earning three second-place finishes in the six events entered.
