(MISENHEIMER , NC) - The 2026 USA South Men's Lacrosse tournament has come to a close on the campus of Pfeiffer University with the host, top-seed, Falcons taking the championship for the fourth consecutive year and the fifth time in their program's history. Pfeiffer grabbed a 23-7 victory over second-seeded Southern Virginia scoring the most goals by a team in a USA South title game.
The teams exchanged goals to begin the game before Pfeiffer scored the next six tallies to build a 7-1 lead early in the second quarter and not look back. The Falcons took a 14-2 advantage into halftime and extended the lead to 22-3 before Southern Virginia scored three straight in the fourth quarter.
Pfeiffer was led offensively by Tiger Hopkins who tallied game-highs of ten points and eight goals to go along with two assists, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Dylan Sullivan also added five scores with one assist while faceoff specialist Lee Caldwell collected a game-high 13 ground balls and was 14-of-16 at the "X". For Southern Virginia, Myles Nielson and Clay Haacke each scored two goals for the Knights' cause.
