USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - September 16, 2026

  • Men's Golfer of the Week
    Todd Moyer, Methodist - The Cornelius, North Carolina senior placed tied for fifth out of 99 golfers at the Gate City Invitational last week, which featured three of the top-ten teams in Division III, by shooting a two-under par 214. In the three-round event, Moyer opened with an even par 72, followed with a one-over par 73, and finished with a three-under par 69. Also Nominated: Jason Parrish, Greensboro; Arnau Ferrer Margall, N.C. Wesleyan; Tatum North, Pfeiffer; Will Agnew, Southern Virginia; Finn Howard, William Peace.

    Men's Golf Rookie of the Week
    Griffin Lawlor, Methodist - The Oxford, Connecticut freshman placed tied for 11th out of 99 golfers at the Gate City Invitational last week, which featured three of the top-ten teams in Division III, by shooting a one-under par 215. In the three-round event, Lawlor opened with a one-under par 71, followed by back-to-back even-par 72s. Also Nominated: Liam Merlino, Greensboro; Charlie Wiltshire, N.C. Wesleyan; Zachary Shipp, Southern Virginia.

  • Women's Golfer of the Week
    Yvette Gorden, Huntingdon - The Pike Road, Alabama senior placed first out of 42 golfers at the SAA Fall Classic last week by shooting an even-par 144. In the two-round event, Gorden shot even-par 72 in each round. Also Nominated: Anna Wicklum, Methodist; Ella Couper, Pfeiffer; Keegan Goins, Piedmont.

    Women's Golf Rookie of the Week
    Eliyse Schudlich, Pfeiffer - The South Lyon, Michigan freshman placed tied for 67th out of 91 golfers at the Shenandoah/Chinatown Invitational last week by shooting a 39-over par 183. In the two-round event, Schudlich opened with a 19-over par 91 and finished with a 20-over par 92. Also Nominated: None.
