MEN'S BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Adrian Moore, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior guard from Plymouth, North Carolina tallied a double-double by scoring a career-high 34 points and collecting a career-high ten steals in an 86-74 win over Mid-Atlantic Christian in the team's only contest last week. Moore also added five rebounds and five assists in the victory. Also Nominated: Elijah Adedoyin, LaGrange; Z Arima, Covenant; James Contreras Jr., Averett; Colt Nokes, Maryville; Bryan Rouse, Methodist; Chris Thomas, William Peace; Justin Vallejo, Piedmont; Lorenzo Marry, Greensboro.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
A.J. Frye, N.C. Wesleyan - The Wilmington, North Carolina freshman center notched a double-double of 17 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in an 86-74 win over Mid-Atlantic Christian in the team's only contest last week. Frye also added a career-high five assists and one steal in the victory. Also Nominated: Taj Thompson, Averett.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Zarkia Mattox, Ferrum The Rocky Mount, Virginia junior guard notched, what is believed to be, the program's first-ever NCAA-era triple-double in a 91-89, overtime, win at Bridgewater in the team's only action last week. Mattox scored a single-game school-record 48 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out ten assists. She connected on 19 shots which tied the USA South record for made baskets in a single game. Finally, Mattox added two steals and a block in the victory. Also Nominated: Samm Chandler, Averett; Kechae Parker, N.C. Wesleyan; Carlie Shields, Piedmont; Joanna Smith, Covenant; Kylee Barry, Greensboro. 

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Christian Sanders, Methodist - The Benson, North Carolina freshman guard scored a team-high 14 points in a 62-50 victory over Hollins in the team's only contest last week. Sanders also added four rebounds, four steals and two assists in the win. Also Nominated: Katie Lewis, Greensboro.
