MEN'S BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Michael Phifer, Greensboro - The senior forward from Eden, North Carolina averaged a double-double of 19.5 points and 16.0 rebounds per game to go along with 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 assists as the Pride posted a 2-0 record last week. In a 85-84 win over St. Andrews, Phifer totaled 21 points, 17 rebounds, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. In a 101-83 victory over Southern Virginia, Phifer posted 18 points, 15 rebounds and one assist. Also Nominated: Dante Burden, Methodist; AJ Frye, N.C. Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Orry Clements-Owens, Piedmont - The freshman guard from Marietta, Georgia averaged 9.5 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as the Lions posted a 1-1 record last week. In a 74-58 win over Oglethorpe, Clements-Owens totaled nine points, four assists, two rebounds, one steal. In a 96-71 loss to second-ranked Emory, Clements-Owens scored ten points with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Also Nominated: Garrett Phillips, N.C. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Brooke Carthon, Averett - The Atlanta, Georgia senior guard notched game-highs of 25 points and six assists, with no turnovers, in an 80-74 win over USA South foe Mary Baldwin in the team's lone game last week. Carthon also added seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal in the victory. Also Nominated: Keorra Taylor, N.C. Wesleyan; Tyzarea Alexander, Methodist; Daijah Cousins, LaGrange; Nakiyah Washington, Piedmont; Deja Riddick, Brevard; Kortni Pinion, Pfeiffer; Sydney Bowen, Salem; Rachel Thomas, Covenant; Elsa Eckenrod, Maryville; Emma Olson, Agnes Scott.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Nakiyah Washington, Piedmont - The Adairsville, Georgia freshman forward averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game as the Lions posted a 2-0 record versus USA South competition last week. In a 66-62 win over LaGrange, Washington totaled 15 points, seven rebounds and one steal. In an 80-58 victory over Covenant, Washington posted career-highs with 25 points and three assists to go along with eight rebounds and six steals. Also Nominated: Kayrisma Harrison, N.C.
