FOOTBALL

Football Offensive Player of the Week
Xzavier McNeil, Methodist - The senior wide receiver from Garner, North Carolina produced a season-high 180 receiving yards with two touchdowns in a 31-27 win over Brevard last week. McNeil caught a game-high eight passes for an average of 22.5 yards per reception. He also carried the ball once for seven yards. Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
Shawn Watlington, Averett - The freshman running back from Danville, Virginia rushed for 75 yards in a 28-23 win over Southern Virginia last week. Watlington ran the ball 17 times for a 4.4 yards-per-carry average. Also Nominated: Marcus Lane, Brevard.

Football Defensive Player of the Week
Conner Showalter, Averett
- The Cameron, North Carolina senior linebacker notched a career-high 20 total tackles to go along with an interception he returned for a touchdown in a 28-23 win over Southern Virginia last week. Showalter's third-quarter interception was returned 22 yards and proved to be the eventual game-winning score. As for his tackle numbers, Showalter accumulated four solo tackles and 16 assisted take downs. Also Nominated: Steffon Canady, Brevard; Jaden Henderson, Greensboro; Nate Jones, Methodist; Luke Moorhead, N.C. Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
Max Steele, Greensboro - The freshman linebacker from Julian, North Carolina collected eight total tackles, including one sack and two for a loss of ten total yards in a defeat at the hands of LaGrange, 29-14, last week. Also Nominated: Dylan James, Brevard; Korey Hunter, N.C. Wesleyan.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Chase Corey, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior punter and punt returner from Wake Forest, North Carolina produced the only touchdown of the day for the Battling Bishops in a 30-7 loss to Huntingdon last week. Corey returned a first quarter punt 32 yards for a touchdown which game N.C. Wesleyan an early, 7-0, lead. Additionally, Corey handled the punting duties, averaging 36.4 yards on seven attempts. Also Nominated: Will Caviness, Averett; Kobe Praylow, Methodist.

Volleyball Player of the Week
Meredith Bonee, Maryville - The senior/right-side hitter from Knoxville, Tennessee averaged 8.88 assists, 4.00 digs, and 1.50 kills, with a .375 hitting percentage, as the Scots finished off a perfect 16-0 Conference season with wins over Huntingdon and Piedmont. Bonee notched a double-double against Huntingdon (40 assists/26 digs) while her week-highs included 40 assists, 26 digs, seven kills, four service aces, and two blocks. Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Phillips, Meredith - The senior defensive specialist from Greenville, North Carolina averaged 5.55 digs and 1.55 assists per set last week as the Avenging Angels posted a 2-1 record with wins over William Peace and N.C. Wesleyan, with a loss to Averett. Phillips' week-highs included 27 digs, eight assists, and three service aces. Also Nominated: Erin Gray, Averett; Bailey Lance, Brevard; Lauren Mantel, Greensboro; Natalie Watts, Maryville; Valeria Rosa Lopez, Salem; Audrey Horsley, Huntingdon; Kira Kristjanson, N.C. Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Kinsley Stevens, Averett - The freshman setter from Danville, Virginia averaged 7.17 assists and 2.17 digs per set as the Cougars posted a 3-0 record last week gaining wins over Greensboro, N.C. Wesleyan, and Meredith. Stevens notched a double-double against Meredith (35 assists/11 digs) while her week-highs included 35 assists, 11 digs, one kill (twice) and one service ace (twice). Also Nominated: Sara Dees, Meredith; Ashley Hoxit, Brevard; Reese Bailey, Maryville; Macy Nelson, Salem; Jeanana Fowler, Methodist; Jessi Hilyer, Huntingdon; Idymel Ayala Rivera, Berea; Georgia Grace Anderson, William Peace; Anya Parker, Pfeiffer; Sydney Hopkin, Southern Virginia.
