MEN'S GOLF

Men's Golfer of the Week
Antti Vahvaselka, Averett - The sophomore, competing in his first year of collegiate golf, from Helsinki, Finland placed tied for ninth out of 99 golfers at the Royal Lakes Invitational last week by shooting an even-par 144. In the two-round event, Vahvaselka opened with a one-over par 73 and finished with a one-under par 71. Also Nominated: Frankie Schmitt, N.C. Wesleyan; Charles Price , Southern Virginia.

Men's Golf Rookie of the Week

WOMEN'S GOLF

Women's Golfer of the Week
Jillian Drinkard, Methodist - The senior from Appomattox, Virginia paced tied for fourth out of 90 golfers at the Division III Fall Preview last week by shooting a one-over par 73. The event was shortened from two rounds to one due to poor weather. Also Nominated: Lilli Caroline Tamburstuen, Averett.

Women's Golf Rookie of the Week
Lilli Caroline Tamburstuen, Averett - The freshman from Sandvika, Norway participated in two events over the past two weeks as Averett launched its women's golf program. At the Bridgewater Invitational, Tamburstuen placed tied for fourth out of 46 golfers by shooting a two-round, nine-over par, 153. At the VSGA Intercollegiate, Tamburstuen placed fifth out of 23 golfers with a two-round, 15-over par, 157. Also Nominated: None.
