MEN'S BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Will Crumly, Covenant - The graduate student forward from Marietta, Georgia averaged a double-double of 22.3 points and 11.0 rebounds, to go along with 2.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per game, as the Scots posted a 2-1 record last week. Crumly posted two double-doubles last week with 31 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to LaGrange, followed by 25 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Huntingdon. Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Jem Lowrance, Averett - The freshman guard from Taylorsville, North Carolina averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as the Cougars posted a 2-0 record last week. In a 70-59 win over Greensboro, Lowrance scored a career-high 15 points with seven rebounds and one assist. In an 81-56 victory over Methodist, Lowrance totaled eight points and two rebounds. Also Nominated: Tomas Stevens, Methodist; Kaleb Powell, Maryville; Garrett Sutherland, Brevard; Conner Marchant, Southern Virginia.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Savanna Christensen, Southern Virginia - The senior forward from Laie, Hawaii led the Knights to a 71-52 win over Mary Baldwin in the team's only contest last week by notching a double-double of 23 points and a career-high 24 rebounds. Christensen also added seven assists, three blocks, and one steal in the victory. Also Nominated: Livia Skinner, Piedmont; Bailee Vanover, Berea; Alexis Bynum, Pfeiffer; Rana Davis-Robinson, Averett; Breonna Glover, LaGrange; Kayla Johnson, N.C. Wesleyan; Jordan Heifner, Maryville; Destiny Williams, Brevard; Jalen Gathers, Mary Baldwin; Quadijah Moore, Greensboro.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Aneesa Irizarry, Methodist - The freshman guard from Durham, North Carolina averaged 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as the Monarchs posted a 1-1 record last week. In an 89-39 loss to second-ranked Christopher Newport, Irizarry was held scoreless but did manage four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. In a 70-67 victory over Pfeiffer, Irizarry scored a career-high 25 points, including hitting two free throws with six seconds remaining to put Methodist ahead for good. Irizarry also added four rebounds, four assists, and a career-high three steals in the win. Also Nominated: Nae-Nae Eades, Piedmont; Drea Satori, Berea; Alexis Bynum, Pfeiffer; Jaa Brown, Averett; Hailey Cronk, Maryville; Lexi Shepard, Brevard.
