USA South Athletes of the Week - Nov. 28, 2022

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Brandon Stoudamire, Mary Baldwin - The sophomore forward from Atlanta, Georgia scored a game-high 27 points off the bench in the team's only contest last week, an 88-79 win over Randolph. Stoudamire also added six rebounds, two steals, and one assist in the victory. Also Nominated: Daymon Beckwith, Pfeiffer; Kevon Wright, Greensboro; T.J. East, Methodist; LB Boyette, Brevard; Malakai Olson, Southern Virginia.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Shaun Kenedy, Southern Virginia - The freshman guard from Cary, North Carolina averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game as the Knights posted a 1-1 record last week. In an 82-59 loss to Washington & Lee, Kenedy scored 15 points with five rebounds, five assists, and one steal. In an 80-71 victory over Apprentice, Kenedy posted 12 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Also Nominated: Doug Smith, Pfeiffer; Derrion Hicklen, Methodist; Jadon Carnes, Brevard.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Audrey Jennings, Greensboro - The Elkin, North Carolina sophomore guard averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game as the Pride posted a 2-0 record last week. In an 84-78 win at Piedmont, Jennings scored eight points with one rebound, and one block. In a 78-64 victory over Sewanee, Jennings contributed a game-high 23 points off the bench to go along with six rebounds, and four steals. Also Nominated: Aniyah Tate, Methodist.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Minnie Griffin, Salem - The Orlando, Florida first-year scored a game-high 23 points in the only contest last week for the Spirits, a 72-65 loss to USA South foe Methodist. Griffin also added four rebounds, two steals, and one block in the defeat. Also Nominated: None.
