Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Beau Bryant, William Peace - The junior guard from Durham, North Carolina averaged 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game as the Pacers posted a 2-1 record last week against USA South opposition. In an 80-78 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Bryant nearly notched a triple-double with 25 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists with two steals. In a 71-63 loss to Southern Virginia, Bryant tallied a double-double of ten points and 11 rebounds with three assists, two steals, and one block. Finally, in an 87-75 victory over Mary Baldwin, Bryant totaled 23 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Also Nominated: M.J. Armstrong, Pfeiffer; T.J. Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Koa Baker, Southern Virginia - The freshman guard from Eagle Mountain, Utah averaged a double-double of 18.7 points and 11.7 rebounds to go along with 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game as the Knights posted a 1-2 record last week against USA South foes. In a 78-75 loss to Greensboro, Baker notched the first of his three double-doubles of the week with 17 points and ten rebounds to go along with two assists, one steal, and one block. In a 71-63 win at William Peace, Baker scored 19 points with 12 rebounds, four steals, two assists, and one block. Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Kate Perko, Meredith - The Fayetteville, North Carolina senior forward averaged a double-double of 20.0 points and 17.3 rebounds, to go along with 1.3 assists per game as the Avenging Angels posted a 2-1 record last week against USA South competition. In a 76-66 loss at N.C. Wesleyan, Perko notched the first of three double-doubles on the week with ten points and 11 rebounds to go along with two assists and one steal. In a 54-50 win at William Peace, Perko scored 25 points and grabbed a career-high 24 rebounds with one assist. Finally, in a 51-41 win at Methodist, Perko totaled 25 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Miya Horton, Pfeiffer - The Lenoir, North Carolina freshman guard averaged 6.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game as the Falcons posted a 1-2 record last week against USA South foes. In a 65-55 loss to Methodist, Horton scored four points with eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal. In a 66-60 loss to Southern Virginia, Horton totaled six points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Finally, in a 72-68 win over Mary Baldwin, Horton notched ten points with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Also Nominated: Olivia Miller, Brevard.
