Buena Vista, VA - Despite her collegiate career ending last week in the NCAA Tournament, senior Sydney Bassett garnered one more award as she was selected as an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American.

While it's Bassett's first time being recognized as an All-American, she also makes history as just the second player in program history to be recognized (Courtney Pinkston - 2021). The honor is another milestone in the Knights' quest to be a signature competitor on the national stage for years to come.

In addition to becoming the program's all-time kills leader, Bassett's 462 kills in 2024 are the most in a single season in the program's NCAA era and led the team to their third 20-win season in the three years. Her class of seniors, including Brenna Clyde and Jessica Stone, are amongst the winningest athletes in program history with three conference team championships and 93 total wins.
