WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - For the second straight season, Piedmont women's golf standout Erin Donovan has earned All-America recognition from the Women's Golf Coaches Association, announced Wednesday night.
After receiving second team honors last season, this season Donovan made the jump to the first team, one of 11 Division III student athletes to receive the honor. Along with the all-america status, Donovan also earned All-Region honors from the WGCA as well.
Donovan continued her dominance in her junior campaign, winning twice in the fall while accumulating five top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes. She was named USA South Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and finished second in the USA South Tournament.
At the Montgomery's Women's Collegiate in the fall, Donovan fired rounds of 66 and 70 to post a 36-hole score of 136 and 8-under par, winning going away and shattering the Piedmont individual 36-hole record in the process. During the season, she earned USA South Golfer of the Week honors three times, bringing her to 17 weekly awards for her career.
Each year, the Women's Golf Coaches Association names women's collegiate golf First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention WGCA All-American Teams for Division I, II & III and NAIA. The selection process for this prestigious honor is quite rigorous and is determined by the WGCA Awards Committee for each Division.
Donovan qualified as an individual into the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship and finished two days of play with a seven-over par 151. This performance, however, was not enough to get Donovan past the cut line and onto the final two days of competition.
